LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT RIBBON:
is awarded to the member who puts
their service to the United Federated Planets as a personal goal in their
lives. Their contributions to the United Federated Planets make a distinct
difference to the United Federated Planets.
LEGION OF VALOR:
Is awarded to the member who distinguishes himself/herself by displaying
superior service to the United Federated Planets.
Criteria includes
the following:
1. selfless devotion to duty by putting the needs
of fandom before ones own personal needs,
2. to perform assigned duties to the best of ones
abilities without complaint,
3. to go beyond what is expected of ones self by
doing those extra things not thought of by others,
4. to make a definite positive impact on Star
Trek fandom and the United Federated Planets, and
5. to present a positive attitude all of the time
toward Star Trek fandom and the United Federated Planets.
Recommendation must be sent to the UFP President who will assemble a panel
of judges to go over the qualifications of members nominated for this
special award.
LYNN CORNWELL SERVICE RIBBON:
is a very special award reserved for the UFP member who demonstrates the
ideals of Star Trek, human compassion, diligence and self sacrifice not only
in service to the members of the UFP, but to his or her community as well.
Recommendation must be sent to the UFP President who will assemble a panel
of judges to go over the qualifications of members nominated for this
special award.
UFP COMMENDATION:
Awarded for outstanding active participation in a UFP function or the
member’s UFP chapter. The member’s chapter president or vice president
should make the nomination.
UFP MERIT RIBBON:
Awarded for active participation in a UFP function or the member’s UFP
chapter. The member’s chapter president or vice president should make the
nomination.
CHAPTER PRESIDENT RIBBON:
Awarded to any chapter president who submits his/her chapters monthly status
reports on time and does not miss any monthly reports during a fiscal year.
CHAPTER PRESIDENT SCHOOL RIBBON:
Awarded to a Chapter President who takes and passes the UFP Chapter
Presidents School.
SCHOLASTIC RIBBON:
Awarded to any member attending a public school, home school,
university/college or any other institution of higher or advanced education
with an overall grade average of B or 3.0 or higher. A photocopy of the
grade report must be submitted with the request for this award.
RECRUITING RIBBON:
Awarded
to any member who actively recruits 20 new members for the UFP during a
fiscal year.
The member needs to place his name on the top of the application forms
before they are sent in to UFP Headquarters. The member’s chapter president
or vice president should make the nomination.
FIRST AID RIBBON:
Awarded to any member who performs an act of first aid to an injured or ill
person. The member’s chapter president or vice president should make the
nomination.
LIFE SAVING RIBBON:
Awarded to any member who performs an act that saves the life of another
person. The member’s chapter president or vice president should make the
nomination.
PURPLE HEART RIBBON:
Awarded to any member who is injured while attending an official UFP
function whether it be a meeting, a party, a convention or a social chapter
gathering. The member’s chapter president or vice president should make the
nomination.
DISASTER ASSISTANCE RIBBON:
Awarded to any member for the selfless sacrifices made by the UFP member in
giving of their own personal time and talents in providing assistance to
others in their community during a time of extreme disaster. The member’s
chapter president or vice president should make the nomination or the
organizational representative of the organization for which the act of
disaster assistance was performed.
COMMUNITY SERVICE RIBBON:
Awarded to any member who performs an act of community service either on
their own or with their chapter. The member’s chapter president or vice
president should make the nomination or the
organizational representative of the organization for which the act of
community service was performed.
SERVICE RIBBON:
Denotes the years of active service a member has performed for the UFP as an
active member. These are in increments of five years (5, 10, 15, 20, etc.).
Must be requested by the member. The first two
digits of the UFP number stands for the year a member joined the UFP
(8902-0001) shows 1989 as the year the member joined the UFP while 02 shows
the member joined in February.
ALL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR AWARDS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A STATEMENT DETAILING WHAT THE CANDIDATE HAS DONE TO EARN THE AWARD REQUESTED. THIS WILL VALIDATE THE AWARD AND ALSO GO IN THE SUBSPACE NEWSLETTER.
